AssurCard

The AssurCard is a ‘third party payers card’. This is the most user-friendly solution for your insured persons.

What is the AssurCard?

The AssurCard is a ‘third party payers card’. This is the most user-friendly solution for your insured persons.

Thanks to the AssurCard, many payments can be settled directly without the insured having to pay out sums in advance which are only reimbursed afterwards. Nothing but advantages, in other words.

Each affiliated family member has his or her own, strictly personal, AssurCard (which does not contain any medical information). In the event of hospitalisation, the insured person only has to indicate the hospitalisation admission.

In short: the AssurCard saves your employees major expenditure and unnecessary paperwork.

Benefits

Costs and formalities kept to a minimum

  • If the insured person is admitted to a hospital that is a member of the AssurCard system, no advance payments need to be made.
  • If no additional medical information is required, the hospital costs are paid directly and the insured person does not need to pay anything in advance. Non-covered costs (use of telephone, excess, etc.) are reimbursed after the case file has been processed.
  • The card is easy to use and minimises the formalities.

How do you use it?

Notification of hospital admission

If an insured person is hospitalised, he or she should always indicate this with the help of his or her AssurCard. This can be done by telephone, online or via a terminal in the hospital. The exact procedure for this is explained in detail on the AssurCard website.

Always ‘third party payer’?

Based on the declaration, it is decided whether the invoice may be sent directly to the insurer.

In certain cases, the invoice is sent to the patient anyway, e.g. if the hospital is not a member of the AssurCard network or if additional information is required to determine which costs are covered by the insurer.  In such a case, the insured person can submit his or her paid invoice afterwards for partial reimbursement.
